vanholzer was founded in 2021 by Raphael Miro Holzer. He is a choreographer, pedagogue, and movement director born 1994 in Vienna.
Raphael is currently working in a theater and dance context. He is interested in exploring the role of language in contemporary dance as well as how a choreographic method such as Blueprint can overcome cultural barriers.
In 2021, he founded the dance company vanholzer as a platform for further choreographic works. Raphaels desire is to be in dialogue with other creative disciplines in order to push what dance can mean. In 2021 he received the AISGE Foundation Award for his first choreographic work, desire de paragüas.
